Description

Dated 1858. Classical ashlar monument sited on summit of hill. Base course; pedestal with chamfered angles capped by entablature with acroteria and stone angle brackets. Octagonal shaft, tapering and corniced, bearing decorative stone urn finial. Commemorative panel on 1 face of pedestal inscribed to Wigtown Martyrs, Covenanters who were drowned in the River Bladnoch (1685), or were hung.

ENCLOSURE: spearhead railings retaining square enclosure, some now in disrepair.
