Description
Rebel Stone is a mid-18th century memorial made of ashlar. It stands 2 metres high and has a rectangular shape with a splayed base and a moulded cap. The south side features a defaced inscription that is believed to read, "Here lies a rebel, 1746." This stone marks the burial place of a Scotsman who died during the rebellion of 1745-6.
