Description
This is an early 19th-century, two-storey, two-bay house located at 3 Bank Street in Wigtown, which is adjacent to the Town Hall on the right. The building is constructed of rubble with squared granite quoins and red sandstone ashlar margins. The entrance door is positioned close to the outer right side, with a window above it, and there is a window on each floor in the bay to the left towards the center. A red post box is set into the wall on the outer left. There is a single-storey cottage attached to the left of the house. The windows feature a 12-pane glazing pattern in sash and case style, with one lower sash made of plate glass. The house has a broad wallhead stack on the left return, a roof covered with grey slates and tiles at the rear, a sandstone ridge, and cast-iron rainwater goods.
