Description

1900 (dated), with 18th century origin. 2-storey, with 1st floor breaking eaves, 3-bay house, formerly with shop at ground floor, in terrace. Rendered and finely lined. Painted architraved margins.

Quoin strips. Painted base course.

S (MAIN STREET) ELEVATION: consoled cornice over former 3-bay shop at ground floor, grouped towards left; blocked doorway at centre; window to left and right. Fanlit door to outer right; moulded surround to panel above, inscribed "Rebuilt 1900. May 1st 1736 David Leggat, Chyrugeon". Window at centre at 1st floor truncated by eaves; triangular dormerheads to window in bays to left and right.

W ELEVATION: adjoined to slightly lower building, Nos 43 and 45 Main Street (see separate listing).

E ELEVATION: adjoined to slightly lower building, No 49 Main Street. Modern glazing at 1st floor; plate glass display windows at ground floor. No skews. Partly rendered gablehead stacks, mutual to E and W. Modern tiles. Cast-iron rainwater goods; decorative gutter fixtures. Octagonal cans.
