28A Main Street, Glenluce

28A Main Street in Glenluce is a cottage dating from the early to earlier 19th century. It is a single-storey building with a raised basement and features three bays, which are grouped towards the left. The structure is built of rubble with painted raised margins and has projecting starts to the windows on the ground floor.

On the north elevation facing Main Street, there is a door in the left bay at ground level, which is a panelled door with a fanlight above it. Concrete steps lead down to the basement. The fenestration is regularly arranged on both the ground floor and the basement, including a window located beneath the steps. There is also a boarded door on the outer right side of the basement. The harled elevation of No 28 Main Street continues onto this elevation.

The east elevation is adjoined to No 30 Main Street, which is listed separately. The west elevation is connected to a lower building, No 28 Main Street. The cottage features modern glazing and has a red sandstone coped skew to the northwest. There is a broad rubble gablehead stack with a red sandstone band on the west side, and the roof is covered with graded grey slates and has octagonal cans. Modern steel railings are present on the north side.
