Otterburn, 24 Main Street, Glenluce

Otterburn is a cottage located at 24 Main Street in Glenluce, dating from the later 19th century. It is a single-storey building with an attic, featuring dormer windows that break the eaves. The cottage has three bays and is situated at the end of a terrace. The north elevation is pebble-dashed, while the west elevation is constructed of rubble. It has painted raised margins and architraves around the dormer windows, as well as painted channelled quoin strips and a painted base course.

On the north elevation facing Main Street, there is a pilastered doorcase at the center, which includes a panelled door and a fanlight with a letter-box. The outer bays have regular fenestration, with a corniced band linking the openings. Above the outer bays are slate-hung gabled dormer windows, and there is a modern flat-roofed dormer window above the center bay. A corniced band runs above the ground floor openings.

The east elevation is adjoined to No 26 Main Street. The west elevation is gabled and blank, with a door located to the left.

The windows feature 4-pane fixed and top-hopper glazing, and there are no skews present. The broad rubble gablehead stacks on the east and west sides include red sandstone bands, topped with modern tiles and octagonal cans.
