55 Main Street, Glenluce

55 Main Street in Glenluce is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house. The exterior is pebble-dashed, with a rubble wall on the west elevation featuring painted margins and a battered base course. There are remnants of an eaves cornice, although its original appearance is unclear.

On the south elevation facing Main Street, there are steps leading to a modern timber door located at the center, which has a letter-box fanlight above it. The windows are regularly spaced on both the ground and first floors.

The west elevation is gabled and blank, with a narrow passage created alongside the hotel to the left. The east elevation is also gabled and is positioned close to Nos 57 and 59 Main Street, which are listed separately.

The house features modern glazing, lacks skews, and has broad rubble gablehead stacks on both the east and west sides. The roof is covered with modern tiles, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods on the southwest side.
