Description
Shavalon is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey house located at 64 Main Street in Kirkcolm. It features a three-bay design and is situated at the end of a terrace. The building is constructed of painted rubble, with the north elevation harled, and has painted margins and a base course.
On the east elevation facing Main Street, there is a central door with windows in the outer bays on both floors. The ground floor windows have been enlarged, while the first-floor windows are topped with timber gabled dormerheads that were formerly adorned with finials.
The south elevation is adjoined to No 62 Main Street, while the north elevation is blank. The first floor has 9-pane glazing, while the ground floor has modern glazing. The building features coped mutual skews and mutual gablehead stacks, and it is roofed with grey slates.
