The Bield, 75 Main Street, Port William

The Bield is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house located at 75 Main Street in Port William. It features a single-storey wing attached to the north side and is constructed of painted rubble with painted margins.

On the west elevation facing Main Street, there is a centrally located doorway with a modern door. The windows are arranged in a regular pattern. The wing to the left has a window on the right, a blocked doorway in the center, and a garage door on the left.

The north elevation shows the wing that is adjoined to No 73 Main Street. The south elevation is gabled and blank, with a tall painted rubble wall to the right. It has modern glazing, red sandstone coped skews, and partly painted rubble gablehead stacks. The house is covered with purple slates, while the wing has graded grey slates and the rear slope of the main roof is finished with concrete tiles.
