Description
81 Main Street in Port William is a single-storey, five-bay cottage that dates back to 1821. The exterior features projecting cills and is finished in dry-dash render.
On the west elevation facing Main Street, there is a doorway at the center, which has a modern door and fanlight. The windows are arranged regularly, and there are broad tympany gables over the outer bays.
The north elevation is gabled and blank, while the south elevation is adjoined to No 83 Main Street.
The cottage has timber sash and case windows, with four-pane upper sashes and plate glass lower sashes. The tympany gables have painted coped skews and painted rubble stacks, with no gablehead stacks. The roof is covered with purple slates.
