Library, Church Street, Port William

The building is a library located on Church Street in Port William, dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is a single-storey, three-bay cottage constructed of painted rubble with projecting cills.

On the south elevation, there is a boarded door at the center, flanked by windows in the outer bays. The west elevation features a flat-roofed painted rubble outbuilding that is attached, with a boarded door to the right leading south.

The east elevation has a painted rubble lean-to attached to the left, with a shed adjoining at the center and right. The north elevation includes a single-storey, piend-roofed, painted brick extension that runs along the length of the elevation. This side has timber sash and case windows with plate glass glazing, painted coped skews, and painted rubble gablehead stacks. The roof is covered with variegated purple slates, and there is a decorative square can on the west stack. A small rooflight is present on the south pitch.
