Description
Lauchope is a symmetrical villa built around 1855, featuring two storeys and an attic. The structure is made of whinstone coursers with red sandstone dressings and quoins. The entrance front has a gabled design with a projecting central porch supported by pilasters, which contains a round-arched door. This porch is flanked by two canted bays that are also two storeys high. The gables have small round-arched windows with Gibbs surrounds. The side elevations display two symmetrical, slightly advanced window bays that are also two storeys tall. The villa is topped with bold central ridge stacks, coped skews, and moulded skewputts, all beneath a slate roof.
