Description
Burnside is a mid-19th century single-storey and attic house featuring a symmetrical three-bay front with neo-Jacobean details. The building has neat coursers with painted ashlar dressings. The southwest entrance front includes a door set in a central, slightly projecting porch with a shaped gable head, flanked by canted windows that have shaped parapets. Decorative quoins enhance the structure. On the northwest elevation facing Well Road, there is a pedimented door with a window above it, all framed in elaborate moulding within the gable. The roof is slated and features corniced triple flues at the end stacks, straight skews, and bold scrolled skewputts. At the rear, there is a central gablet with an apex stack and skewputts. The property is also marked by ball finialled panelled gatepiers.
