Description
The Post Office on Main Street in Penpont is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay corner house that includes a shop. The northeast corner is canted at the ground level, featuring a shop door that is corbelled to a square above. The building has stugged ashlar on the Main Street elevation, while the rest is constructed of rubble, all of which is painted. The Main Street side has three bays with a central door, and there is a two-bay elevation facing Keir Road. The windows are made of plate glass, with sash windows on the first floor. The building has corniced end stacks and a piended roof covered with graded slates. A low rear wing is present but is not original to the structure.
