Description

Earlier 19th century, two-storey and basement, three-bay corner house (formerly with shop) of stugged red ashlar with polished dressings. The south elevation has a central door (approached by steps) within a corniced stone-slab porch. The southwest angle is canted at ground floor with a blocked shop door, corbelled to square above. There are basement openings to the right of the porch. The ground floor window to the left of the porch is a later alteration. Windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing. The west gable has straight skews. Corniced end stacks and roofed with graded grey slates.

A tall archway of stugged pink ashlar, presumably associated with the former inn at 2 and 3 The Cross (LB17225), adjoins the northwest corner with access to a cobblestone yard to the rear.
