Description

Glen Cairn is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house located at 13 High Street in Forres. The building is constructed of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. It has a gable end facing High Street, with a later corniced ashlar porch at the center of the west front. The south gable, which also faces High Street, features a ground floor that has been replaced in ashlar with a moulded cornice. The original 12-pane glazing pattern is preserved on the west front. The house has an end stack and a slated roof. Surrounding the property is a dwarf garden wall made of rubble, which has square ashlar piers at each end.
