Description

This building, located at 3A Urquhart Street in Forres, dates from 1815 and is a two-storey, three-bay house with a central bay. To the east, there is an additional two-bay house that has been combined into one dwelling. The gable end faces the street and the structure is built of rubble with tooled ashlar dressings. It features coped end and ridge stacks, along with a slate roof. Notable architectural details include a fine pair of decorated scroll skewputts on the gable facing Urquhart Street; one of these includes the date, while both are adorned with an elongated stylized nautilus shell motif on the return elevation.
