Description

51 and 53 High Street in Forres is a building dating from the late 18th to early 19th century. It is two stories tall with an attic and features five bays. At the ground floor, there are two late 19th century shopfronts, and the right bay has a basket-arched pend opening. The building is constructed of tooled rubble with tooled ashlar margins. The first-floor windows retain their original 12-pane glazing pattern. There is a moulded eaves cornice, and the roof is slated with two canted dormers. No 53 has a modern fascia board and shop glazing.
