Description
The granary at Penpont is a tall, rectangular, three-storey building dating from the earlier to mid-19th century, and it may have originally served as a woollen mill. It is constructed from rubble with long and short worked stugged red ashlar dressings. The north elevation features ground and first-floor doors at opposite ends, along with a series of windows on the first and second floors. Each gable head has a small circular opening. The west gable has an off-centre door at each level, with a cartway at ground level below a hoist. The building has straight skews and a slate roof.
