Description
The granary at Kite Hill Farm is a building likely dating from the late 18th century, with some refurbishment carried out in the 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and clad in weatherboarding, supported by stone staddle stones. The roof has been replaced with corrugated iron.
The granary has a square plan consisting of two bays with a loft above. The exterior features weather-boarded sides and includes two 20th-century doors on the north-west side. Inside, the ground floor has a chamfered central beam, and the end walls of the grain bins remain on the south and east sides. Access to the loft is via steep fixed wooden steps, which lead to a loft that has a staggered purlin roof with diagonal braces, all covered in lath and plaster.
