Description

Possibly Alexander MacNaughton, 1880. 4-storey, 5-bay Scottish 17th century style tenement. Square and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings; stone cleaned. Base course; string course above 1st floor; corbel table at 3rd floor; 3rd floor windows breaking eaves; crowstepped gableheads with inset floral paterae to outer bays; chamfered reveals.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3 roll-moulded doorways (in 2nd, 3rd and 4th bays) divided by single windows; deep-set panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; bipartite windows above in 3rd and 4th bays, pedimented dormerheads to 3rd floor; single windows in 2nd bay, pedimented dormerhead at 3rd floor. Full-height canted windows in bays to outer left and right, corbelled to square at gablehead. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; corniced wallhead stack; coped mutual stacks; moulded cans; beak skewputts.

INTERIOR: not seen 1991.
