15, 17, 19 Marchmont Road, Edinburgh

This building, located at 15, 17, and 19 Marchmont Road in Edinburgh, dates from around 1880 and is a four-storey, six-bay tenement designed in the Scottish 17th century style. It is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. The building features a base course, a string course above the ground floor, a cornice above the second floor, and chamfered reveals.

On the entrance elevation, there are three roll-moulded doorways with deep-set panelled doors and plate glass fanlights. The fifth bay above the doorway has a single window, and there is an offset window above the doorway in the second bay. The third-floor windows in these bays have semi-circular dormerheads. The outer right bay contains bipartite windows, with an offset window above the bipartite window and the central doorway in the third bay. Blank tablets are set in the dormerheads. The first and fourth bays feature full-height, four-light canted windows, which are corbelled to square at the crowstepped gables, where square initialled tablets are also set in the gableheads. The building has plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, a coped and rendered wallhead stack, moulded octagonal cans, coped mutual stacks, and a crowstepped gable adjoining the tenement to the north, along with beak skewputts.

The interior was not seen in 1991. There is a low boundary wall to the street.
