Description

Circa 1878. 4-storey, 4-bay Scottish 17th century style tenement, forming part of terrace. Squared and snecked bull-faced sandstone with a polished ashlar dressings. Base course; dividing cornices to outer bays; corbel table at 3rd floor, stepped down at centre toform hood to heraldic panel; variety of plain and stop-chamfered reveals; 3rd floor windows breaking eaves.

E ENTRANCE elevation: 3 roll-moulded and hoodmoulded doorways; deep-set panelled doors; plate glass fanlights. Doorways divided by single and bipartite windows. Bipartite windows to bays above, those at 3rd floor with crowstepped dormerheads linked to central stack. Gabled full-height advanced bipartite window in bay to outer left; angles chamfered above ground floor; circular patera set in gablehead; stone finial. Full-height canted window with rounded bay to outer right,corbelled to square at gablehead; cruciform patera inset. Rounded angle adjoining building to outer left. Plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; central corbelled stack with heavy coping.
