Description

Mount Pleasant is a small villa located at 502 Lanark Road in Juniper Green, Edinburgh. The original house dates from around 1810 and was enlarged between 1820 and 1840. It is a single-storey building with two windows and features a central Roman Doric doorpiece supported by pilasters. The exterior is constructed with coursed stone that has flush margins and raised quoin ends. The roof is gabled and slated, with two canted dormers, straight skews, and droved ashlar stacks.

There is a single-storey, single-bay addition to the western side, which serves as a dining room and includes a timber mullioned tripartite window. The windows are fitted with four-pane sashes. The property also features a walled garden that has a segmentally arched rusticated gateway, which is topped with a pedimental blocking course aligned with the doorpiece.
