St Andrews Manse, 476 Lanark Road, Edinburgh

St Andrews Manse is a classical villa built around 1844, featuring two storeys and a three-window square plan. It is set in a large garden, with the front elevation constructed of coursed stone and adorned with ashlar dressings, end pilasters, cill band courses, and raised margins. The entrance includes an architraved and consoled doorpiece with a transom light, a cornice, and a blocking course. The flank and rear elevations are made of rubble. The villa has a piended slated roof with end stacks. The windows have been reglazed with sandwiched double-glazed astrigals that reproduce the original pattern. Inside, there are original inner doors and a good stair rail, while the interior is otherwise plain, featuring one original fireplace surround. There is a later addition at the rear, which underwent some alterations around 1913.
