Spylaw Farmhouse, Edinburgh

Spylaw Farmhouse is a mid-18th century building located in Edinburgh. It is constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and features two storeys and an attic. The east elevation has three windows that are irregularly spaced, with a broader window in the center and a door to the right. The west elevation also has three windows, with a margined door to the left that has a relieving arch above it. The center ground floor window has been enlarged to serve as a French window. There is a central wallhead chimney gablet with a single off-centre light. The gable on the tall side has two windows and a low floor that faces the river. The roof is slated with straight skews and tall ashlar stacks. There is a lower addition to the north gable that has a monopitch roof, along with a forestair and railing leading to a first-floor door on the east side.
