Description

Golspie House is a mid-18th century building located on Vicarage Street in Warminster. It is two storeys high and constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar quoins and a projecting plinth that has splayed capping. The building features plain strings above the ground floor windows and a moulded wood cornice. The roof is covered with old tiles, which have been repaired, and there are gable end chimneys.

The windows are glazing bar sashes, with five on the first floor and four on the ground floor, all framed with architrave. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door set within an architrave surround, topped by a flat cantilever hood that has a panelled soffit. An early 19th-century cast iron knocker with zoomorphic supporters adorns the door.

The house has a gable-lit attic and two projecting wings at the rear. The short east wing has a quarter hipped roof with a rounded brick corner and irregular window arrangement, while the longer west wing, likely from the mid-19th century, also features irregular fenestration.
