Description
Durrell House is a mid-18th century vicarage situated in Vicarage Street, Warminster. The house is two storeys and has an attic. The front is constructed of ashlar stone, with slightly rusticated angle pilasters featuring panels between the first-floor string and the first-floor sill level. A moulded string runs along the first floor, and a slightly coved string sits above the first floor windows, terminating in a blocking course. It has sash windows with glazing bars, set within architrave surrounds; five windows are present on the first floor, with the central one being blind, and all are segmentally headed with a keystone and painted glazing. The ground floor has four windows. A central, segmentally headed doorway features a pediment, architrave surround, a six-panel door, and a fanlight decorated with crossed arrows and a vertical central bar. The roof is tiled, with a four-light dormer casement and a gable light to the left. The right-hand return displays an extension with a two-light mullion window.
