Description

Pentland Cottage, located at 21 Gillespie Road in Edinburgh, was designed by Sir Robert Stodart Lorimer in 1895 and reflects an English traditional style influenced by Voysey. The north front features an asymmetrical two-storey design with twin gables that have ashlar apices, linked by a rainwater head. The entrance includes a doorpiece with an enriched architrave and a projected asymmetrical gable feature on the east side. The south front consists of a single-storey and attic structure with a loggia at the center, flanked by asymmetrical half-hipped gables. The eastern section of the building is a later addition with a piended roof.
