Woodhall House, Woodhall Road, Edinburgh

Woodhall House, located on Woodhall Road in Edinburgh, is a building that originally dates back to the 17th century. It is a three-storey structure built from rubble, featuring a door with a lugged architrave and a pedimented panel from the late 17th century. The house was transformed around 1815 into a late Georgian castellated mansion with two storeys and a basement. The main facade is symmetrical, highlighted by a three-storey crenellated entrance tower that has diagonal buttresses. It includes a fanlight and a tripartite doorpiece, along with Tudor hoodmoulds. There is one window on either side of the entrance, with segmentally arched windows on the ground floor and a crenellated parapet above. To the west, there is a one-window wing, and the windows have lying panes. A modern wing has been added at the eastern end.
