41 Marchmont Crescent, Edinburgh

41 Marchmont Crescent is a four-storey, four-bay tenement built in 1883 by Peter L Henderson, designed in the Jacobean style and forming part of a curving terrace. The building is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone, featuring polished ashlar dressings. It has a base course, a dividing band course above the ground floor, and dividing string courses above that. The central bay has a corbelled and corniced wallhead stack, and the reveals are chamfered.

The entrance elevation features an advanced doorpiece at the center with chamfered reveals and a stylized broken pediment above. The deep-set panelled door is topped by a plate glass fanlight. There are single windows in the flanking bays, with those on the third floor breaking the eaves in curvilinear dormerheads that have stone finials. The outer left and right bays have full-height canted windows that also break the eaves, topped with piend-roofs, extended crowstepped dormerheads, and inset blank toilets. The windows are plate glass sash and case. The roof is covered with grey slate and features coped mutual stacks and bracketed skewputts.

The street is bordered by a low saddleback wall. The interiors were not seen in 1991.
