Description
7 York Road in Edinburgh is a pair of plain classical semi-detached houses built around 1820. They are two stories high and have two bays, with sandstone ashlar on the front and rubble on the sides. The design features a base course, a dividing course between the ground and first floor, and an eaves cornice.
The principal elevation is regularly fenestrated, showcasing timber panelled doors with rectangular fanlights set in broadly pilastered doorpieces. The first-floor windows have panelled aprons, and No. 7 features delicate small wrought-iron balconies. There is a modern additional bay to the right that includes a garage door.
The windows are timber sash and case with plate glass, and the roof is covered with graded grey slates. The stone-coped chimneys have circular cans.
