Description
56 Dundonald Road in Kilmarnock is a pair of semi-detached houses built around 1880. These two-storey, four-bay dwellings feature classical architectural details. The main front is painted and includes quoins, a base course, a cill course at the first floor, a bracketed eaves cornice, and deep eaves at the gable ends.
On the northwest (principal) elevation, there are two central doors framed by a Roman Doric, engaged columned doorpiece. Above this, a blind parapet with ball finials can be seen. At the first floor, there are two single architraved windows, while the ground floor features architraved tripartite windows with a cornice in the outer bays, and similar architraved tripartite windows above.
