Description

Late 19th century. 2 storey 4 bay symmetrical pair of houses with classical details. Cream sandstone squared and snecked rubble with polished ashlar dressings. Base course; roll moulded architraves and scrolled aprons to windows; eaves course.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: segmental arched doorways to 2 central bays with narrow flanking sidelights; 2 leaf panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; single windows to 1st floor above; advanced gabled bays to outer left and right; 3 light canted windows at ground; bipartite windows corbelled out to 1st floor above; foliate carving to triangular panels to gablehead.

Plate glass, timber, sash and case windows. Grey slate roof with decorative clay ridge tiles; coped wallhead stacks to N and S with very tall cans to S; coped, panelled, shouldered wallhead stack to E with foliate moulded cans.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALL: low coped and coursed boundary wall to street; replacement railings.
