Description

Late 19th century; modern garage adjoining to E. 2 storey and attic,

4 bay pair of symmetrical houses with baronial detailing. Coursed cream sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings to principal elevation; squared and snecked rubble to sides and rear. Base course; cornice above ground floor windows; cill course to 1st floor windows; cornice and parapet above 1st floor windows.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: roll moulded, angled doorways to 2 central bays with carved panels and cable moulding above; panelled doors; small paned fanlights; single windows to 1st floor above; central, advanced wallhead stack corbelled out above with flanking pedimented attic windows. Full height, 4 light canted windows in bays to outer right and left; bipartite attic windows set in crowstepped gables above.

Predominantly plate glass, timber sash and case windows; small paned upper lights to mullioned and transomed windows in canted bays. Grey slate mansard roof; corniced and coped wallhead stacks; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped boundary wall to street; replacement railings.
