Description
Late 19th century. 2 storey and attic, 12 bay asymmetrical terrace with baronial detailing. Slightly bull faced, coursed cream sandstone with red sandstone ashlar dressings.
E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: Nos 1-4: 8 bay grouped 2-2-2-2; blank heraldic panels and moulding above doorways in bays to left; panelled doors; plate glass fanlights; flanking narrow sidelights; single windows to 1st floor above; carved bargeboards to pitched roof dormers above. Full height, 3 light canted windows in bays to right with crow stepped gables corbelled out above; small single attic windows and carved stone finials to each gablehead. No 5: 4 bay; 3 stage polygonal corner tower with single windows to each face surmounted by turret with decorative cast iron parapet and finial; pedimented doorway adjoining to S with panelled door; 2 bay linking block to N with single windows to both bays to ground and 1st floors.
N ELEVATION: 4 bay; full height, 3 light canted window surmounted by polygonal roof to outer right; single windows to both floors to outer left and penultimate right flanking central carved heraldic panel between floors and crowstepped gable; single round arched window to gablehead.
Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate pitched roof with crowstepped skews; shaped, coped wallhead and ridge stacks; moulded cans. Original rainwater goods.
INTERIOR: not seen 1996.
BOUNDARY WALLS: low, coped boundary wall to street; replacement railings.
