4 Gilmerton Road, Edinburgh

8 Gilmerton Road in Edinburgh is a pair of single-storey cottages built in the mid-19th century, incorporating some earlier materials and featuring later alterations. The northeast elevation has two cart arches on the left, which have been infilled with stone and now contain windows. In the center, there are two dormers with piend roofs covered in slate. At the rear, there are two later porches. The cottages are constructed from random rubble with dressed stone quoins, skews, and window margins, and they have graded slates on the roof. The brick chimneys are topped with tall cylindrical cans. The windows are timber sash and case with small-pane glazing.

The property also includes a rubble boundary wall with some brick infill.
