Description

Late 19th century. 2 storey, 3 bay house with baronial and Jacobean detailing; single storey wing adjoining to rear. Cream sandstone coursed rubble with polished ashlar dressings.

W (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: central doorway; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; cornice and carved strapwork panel with rose finial to doorpiece; single window to 1st floor above breaking eaves in round arched pediment with carved rose finial. Single window to ground floor outer left; corniced architrave with carved strapwork panel above; single window to 1st floor above breaking eaves with pediment and thistle finial. Advanced crowstep gabled bay to outer right with full height, 3 light canted window; cornice above ground floor window; cable moulding to eaves course; carved panel to gable head; thistle finial above.

N ELEVATION: crowstepped M gable; central bipartite leaded glass stair window.

Plate glass, timber sash and case windows. Grey slate pitched roofs; fish scale slating to canted window; rendered and coped wallhead stacks; original cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low, coped boundary wall to street; replacement railings.
