Description

Late 19th century. 2 storey and attic, 4 bay asymmetrical house with baronial and classical detailing. Squared and snecked cream sandstone with red sandstone ashlar dressings. Raised base course; deeply overhanging eaves; simply moulded bargeboards; terracotta finials to dormers and gableheads.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorway to right of centre; panelled door; plate glass fanlight; bracketed slate canopy above; single window in bay to outer left; pedimented single window between bays to 1st floor above; modern box dormer above. Tripartite advanced window to ground floor outer left; single window to 1st floor above; pitched roofed dormer slightly advanced above. Advanced gabled bay to ground floor outer right with full height, 3 light canted window; blank panels and central pediment above ground floor lights; single window to gablehead above.

S (WILTON ROAD) ELEVATION: central lean to porch with E facing doorway and tripartite pedimented window breaking eaves; single round arched window to 1st floor above; gabled bay to outer right; carved panel at ground with round arch motif and pediment; 3 light canted window corbelled out to 1st floor above; single gablehead window. Single window to both floors in bay to outer left; single pitched roof dormer above.

Predominantly 2-pane timber sash and case windows; some 4 pane and modern pivot. Grey slate pitched roofs with clay ridge tiles; shouldered ridge stacks; moulded cans; cast-iron rainwater goods.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coursed and coped rubble wall to street; replacement railings.
