36 Ravensheugh Road, Musselburgh

36 Ravensheugh Road in Musselburgh is a pair of semi-detached single-storey houses with attics, built around 1840. They are set behind a dwarf walled front garden. The houses are designed symmetrically, featuring a central door flanked by one window on the inner bay and a three-light canted bay with a semi-prismatic roof on the outer bay. The exterior is made of channelled ashlar with raised margins around the doors, and the slate roof has skewed gables and a party wall, each topped with corniced stacks. Above each ground floor window, there are tripartite dormer windows, which have bellcast boarded gablets containing small shields and are topped by iron finials, although the finials have been removed from No 36. The windows are primarily four-pane sash windows, except for the dormers on No 36, which feature six and three lying pane sashes.
