Description
5 Eskside West in Musselburgh is a pair of semi-detached houses built around 1840. They are single storey with attics and constructed from coursed rubble. The houses feature a ridge slate roof with advanced gabled end bays that include canted three-light bays topped with concave, semi-prismatic lead roofs adorned with fleur de lys finials. The doors are located in the re-entrant angles, with one window positioned closer to the centre. The skewed gables have pointed finials, and square skewputts connect with a cornice and blocking course along the front. Each house has one square dormer with a gablet and pointed finial, and there are corniced chimney stacks at the centre and ends.
