64 East Trinity Road, Edinburgh

This building is a cottage located at 64 East Trinity Road in Edinburgh, dating from around 1825. It is a single-storey structure with three bays, featuring a later porch and piend-roofed slate-hung dormers in the attic. The front is made of coursed sandstone with droved ashlar dressings, while the sides and rear are constructed from random rubble. The eaves cornice and blocking course are advanced at the center.

On the south (principal) elevation, the entrance is situated in the slightly advanced central bay, which is obscured by a later glazed lean-to porch. The windows are arranged in a regular pattern.

The north (rear) elevation includes attic windows located in the slate-hung dormers that break the eaves. The windows throughout the cottage have a 12-pane glazing pattern and are made of timber sash and case. The roof is covered with graded grey slates, and there are stone skews along with corniced ashlar stacks that have circular cans.

The boundary wall and gatepiers consist of a low rubble wall with saddle-backed ashlar coping at the front, and tall corniced gatepiers topped with stone eagles that have outstretched wings.
