187 Balsusney Road, Kirkcaldy

This building, located at 187 Balsusney Road in Kirkcaldy, dates back to 1894 and is a single-storey cottage with a piend roof. It features three bays and has a porch supported by Corinthian columns and topped with a pediment. The exterior is made of squared and snecked sandstone rubble, accented by contrasting quoins, and includes an eaves course. The building showcases stop-chamfered arrises and stone mullions.

On the northwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, the porch displays the date and a carved floral design on the tympanum, along with a deep-set timber door that has a plate glass fanlight above it. To the right of the porch, there is a canted tripartite window, while a bipartite window is located to the left. The cottage has plate glass glazing in top-opening timber windows that are not in keeping with the original character. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there are shouldered wallhead stacks topped with polygonal cans.
