Description

The war memorial located on Main Street in Dalmeny was built around 1920 and is designed in the style of a mercat cross. It is constructed from dressed ashlar sandstone and features a stepped octagonal plinth. The shaft of the memorial is topped with a heraldic seated lion holding a shield, which displays a Saltire flanked by thistles. On the southern side, there is a bronze plaque that lists the names of the village's war dead from 1914 to 1919, along with a smaller plaque below it commemorating those who served in the 1939-1945 War.
