Laurelbank, South Street, Aberchirder

Laurelbank is a late 19th century cottage with an early 20th century porch, located on South Street in Aberchirder. This single storey and attic, 3-bay, T-plan building is constructed of squared and snecked granite, featuring ashlar dressings. The central entrance is flanked by canted bays at ground level, and there is an elaborate projecting porch added later, made of painted wood with pilasters, round and narrow windows, and a cornice. Above, the attic has two canted, piend-roofed dormers that are slate-hung and adorned with billet moulding. The windows are sash and case with a 4-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered in grey slates, with ashlar coped skews that have moulded skewputts, and there are coped ashlar stacks topped with decorative cans. The front garden features a low ashlar coped rubble wall with spear-head cast-iron railings and a gate.
