Description
51 South Street in Aberchirder is a late 19th-century cottage featuring a single storey and an attic, designed in a T-plan layout. The exterior is harled with ashlar dressings. The central entrance has a door topped with a letterbox fanlight. On either side of the entrance, there are canted bays at ground level adorned with billet moulding. Above, the attic has two canted, piend-roofed dormers that are slate-hung and also feature billet moulding. The windows are sash and case style with a 4-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and the building has ashlar coped skews with moulded skewputts, as well as coped ashlar stacks with decorative cans and thackstanes.
