Description
38 South Street in Aberchirder is an early 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house located at a street corner. The building is constructed from squared and coursed stugged granite with ashlar dressings, featuring heavily pointed stonework. The entrance door is positioned centrally, with windows on either side at the ground floor, and three additional windows located just below the eaves at the first floor. Notably, the window on both the ground and first floors on the west side is slightly out of line and has cement surrounds. The house has sash and case windows with a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and it features ashlar coped skews and stacks topped with decorative cans, along with thackstanes.
