23 South Street, Aberchirder

23 South Street in Aberchirder is an early 19th-century, two-storey, three-bay house situated on raised ground. The building is constructed from squared and coursed granite, featuring ashlar dressings, a base course, and an eaves course.

On the south elevation, the bays are grouped towards the center, where there is a round-arched doorway with cavetto moulding and a modern semi-circular fanlight above it. There are windows flanking the doorway at ground level, and a squat Venetian window located centrally on the first floor, with additional windows in the outer bays.

The north elevation has small windows at ground level, a stair window in the center on the first floor, and small windows in the outer bays. There is also a later window added to the west gable on the first floor.

The south elevation features regrettable modern two-pane pivot windows, while the rear retains original four-pane glazing in sash and case windows. The roof is covered with graded grey slates and includes coped ashlar skews and stacks, an ashlar ridge, moulded skewputts, and decorative cans.
