Clydesdale Bank, 47 Main Street, Aberchirder

The Clydesdale Bank, located at 47 Main Street in Aberchirder, was built in 1838 and features early 19th century alterations. This two-storey building with an attic consists of a five-bay terrace of two houses, arranged in a 3-2 grouping. It currently serves as a bank and accommodation. The exterior is harled with ashlar margins. There are two doorways located in the second and fourth bays, each with pilastered timber jambs and a cornice, as well as a letterbox fanlight and two-leaf panelled doors. To the right, there is a two-bay bank section with an enlarged window at the ground level in the outer bay. To the left, the three-bay Bank House has two windows that are out of line in the outer left section. The first floor features regular fenestration, and the attic of the Bank House includes two canted dormers. The sash and case windows have a four-pane glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates and features ashlar coped skews and ashlar stacks, some of which have decorative cans.
