29, 31, 33 Marischal Street, Aberdeen

29, 31, and 33 Marischal Street is a classical townhouse built in the later 18th century. It stands three stories tall with an attic and features five bays, situated on a sloping site. The exterior is made of Loanhead granite ashlar, with raised lugged margins on the second floor and alternating lighter granite dressings, along with a moulded eaves course. The central timber door at No. 31 is framed by moulded architraves and topped with a rectangular fanlight that has oval tracery. The steeply pitched roof is adorned with a pair of bipartite canted dormers.

The upper floors have 12-pane timber sash and case windows, while the ground floor features 16-pane windows. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is an ashlar coped skew at the right gable, along with a coped ridge stack made of granite ashlar facing the street and red brick at the rear, topped with clay cans. The building also has cast-iron rainwater goods. At the rear, the structure rises to six stories and displays an irregular glazing pattern, including an oriel window at the fourth floor.
